Sander's third place finish leads Mustangs at GPAC Championship
CAIRO, NEB. – Alysen Sander led Morningside to a third place finish at the three round Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Championship this week at the Centura Hills Golf Club. Alysen Sander also placed third overall, leading the team in scoring as the Mustangs fell 16 strokes behind the eventual champion, Doane.
CAIRO, NEB. – Alysen Sander led Morningside to a third place finish at the three round Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship this week at the Centura Hills Golf Club. Alysen Sander also placed third overall, leading the team in scoring as the Mustangs fell 16 strokes behind the eventual champion, Doane.
Alysen Sander's team-leading total was a 234, 18 strokes over par and five behind the individual leader. Lucy Brown followed for Morningside at +23 with 239 total strokes in the eighth position, and Aidan Sander climbed 11 places in the final day to finish at no. 12 with 244 strokes.
As part of the top 10 finishers in the GPAC championship, Alysen Sander and Lucy Brown earned all-tournament team honors. The GPAC will separately award all-conference honors, taking into consideration the entire season's play.
