Mustangs pull away on Senior Day with four second-half goals

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside men's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in style, scoring four second-half goals to shut out Jamestown 4-0 Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Mustangs broke through in the 65th minute when Lucas De Souza finished a pass from Maris Rombeck to open the scoring. Ramdane Sadmi doubled the lead five minutes later off a setup from Bennet Buchwald, and Javier Ruchelli took over late, scoring twice in a six-minute span — once unassisted in the 80th minute and again in the 86th on an assist from Guilherme Mota.
Goalkeepers Timon Koerber, Tim Teschner, and Diego Setton combined for the clean sheet, making three saves while helping the Mustangs post their fifth shutout of the season. Morningside outshot Jamestown 15-8 and held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
