Men's Soccer collects victory over Providence in home opener

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – In the return to its home turf, Morningside Men's Soccer picked up its first win of the 2025 campaign, toppling the Providence Argos 3-0.
The Mustangs got on the board early, scoring just before 22 minutes had elapsed as Gustavo Dos Santos found Tassilo Koerner for the game winning goal.
A foul in the box sent Jordan Bickel to the penalty kick spot, lining up 12 yards from the goalie. The senior from Maeder, Austria powered the ball past the Argos' keeper, giving the Mustangs a 2-0 advantage. Bickel found the net for another unassisted goal with just over eight minutes to play as Morningside pushed the score to 3-0.
Tim Teschner got the start and the win in goal for the Mustangs, recording one save in the first half of the contest. Timon Koerber matched his teammate, collecting a second-half save.
The Mustangs are back in action on Saturday as they play Bellevue at Elwood Olsen Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
