Persistence pays off for Mustangs in win over Bellevue
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – A slow start didn’t deter the Mustangs as they came storming back to take the lead in the final minute of the first half of today’s men's basketball game against Bellevue, building upon that success in the second half and cruising to a an 82-69 victory when the final horn sounded.

The Mustangs had the advantage when it came to shooting percentage, hitting 56.7 percent of shots, with Bellevue shooting just below 50 percent. Morningside also had 33 rebounds to the Bruins' 21.
Joey Skoff continues to lead Morningside's scoring efforts, dropping 20 points in the contest. Ely Doble trailed with 19. Aidan Vanderloo led the way off the bench, with a season-high 16 points.
The Mustangs were co-led in rebounds by Brendan Buckley and Doble, each securing seven boards. Jack Dotzler followed with five, four of which came on offense, while Trey Powers and Skoff each had four rebounds.
Morningside is back on the court on Tuesday, traveling to Dakota State University for a 7 p.m. contest.
