Dyrstad, Haren lead Mustangs in All-GPAC selections
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Five Morningside University women’s volleyball student-athletes earned Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference honors on Monday, including two Mustangs on the first team.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Five Morningside University women's volleyball student-athletes earned Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference honors on Monday, including two Mustangs on the first team. The GPAC All-Conference teams were selected by the league coaches.
Sophomore setter Kyla Dyrstad and sophomore right-side hitter Emma Haren were named First Team All-GPAC.
Dyrstad led the Mustangs with 953 assists this fall, a total that ranked 33rd in the NAIA. She averaged 8.91 assists per set and was selected GPAC Setter of the Week three times.
Haren paced Morningside offensively with 323 kills in 99 sets, finishing the season with a .213 hitting percentage.
Freshman libero Aubrey Sandbothe earned Second Team honors. She recorded 514 digs in 102 sets — an average of 5.02 per set — and also finished third on the team with 55 assists.
Seniors Adelyn Harris and Victoria Bouska received Honorable Mention recognition. Both middle blockers anchored the Mustangs at the net, as Harris totaled 106 blocks, including 19 solos, while Bouska collected 88 total blocks with 20 solo stops.
Morningside concluded the regular season with a 14–14 record.
