Personal
Sydney is an elementary education and special education major that also happens to be a really picky eater. She chose to attend Morningside because of the atmosphere on campus and on the volleyball team.
"Morningside felt like home," said Sydney. "Coming here, I knew that I would have so much support from my coaches and my teammates."

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar Athletes for women's volleyball today, with the honorees being announced ahead of play at the national championship final site at the Tyson Events Center.
GREENWOOD, IND. – College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District Teams for 2022, including four Morningside women’s volleyball players. All-district honorees will move ahead for consideration for the CSC Academic All-America Teams.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA - The 2022 fall sports award season continued today as the Great Plains Athletic Conference released its all-conference team for women?s volleyball. Morningside?s Sydney Marlow was named second team all-conference while Claire Wilson and Aureana Bernales collected honorable mention honors.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside celebrated senior night tonight, recognizing lone senior, Ryley Rolls, ahead of the season finale between Morningside and the no. 22 Dordt Defenders. The Mustangs ground out a 3-2 win, 20-25, 25-11, 12-25, 25-21, and 15-11.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Mustangs struggled to find production on offense against no. 9 Dakota Wesleyan, falling to the Tigers in straight sets, 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.

The Mustangs came out strong, picking up wins in the opening sets and finishing the match off in set four. The teams wrapped the match with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, and 25-23.

HASTINGS, NEB. – The Mustangs were on the verge of taking a set at Hastings College this afternoon in women’s volleyball action, forcing the match-concluding set to be played to 26 and eventually falling in straight sets, 25-15, 25-20, and 26-24.
ORANGE CITY, IOWA – Morningside continued to chip away at its Great Plains Athletic Conference schedule today, with a match at no. 7 Northwestern College played this evening. The Mustangs played the Raiders closely in the opening set, but couldn’t keep pace with the top ten team, falling 3-0 with sets of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-7.

FREMONT, NEB. – Morningside women’s volleyball began a tough two-day road series as it kicked off the weekend at no. 3 Midland today, falling to the Warriors 3-0. The Midland win came on sets of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-18.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside may not have had any gridiron action this week, but Allee Gym was bustling as the Mustangs hosted a women’s volleyball triangular with Doane and Avila. The Mustangs bested both opponents 3-1, with the win over Doane coming 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-21, and the victory over Avila 21-25, 26-24, 25-16, and 25-18.
SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – The women’s volleyball team showed again that it can play with the conference’s top teams as it stole a set from the Dordt Defenders in wednesday’s 3-1 loss. The Mustangs competed with their hosts throughout the match, falling 25-21, 25-16, 19-25, and 25-20.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside women’s volleyball team was in need of a confidence booster following Thursday’s match at Dakota State, but with Dakota Wesleyan, who was ranked no. 18 in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics poll, next on the schedule, that was going to be a tall task. While the set score didn’t reflect it, the Mustangs fought for every point of the 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 loss. More importantly, they made the Tigers fight for their win.

Slow starts for the Mustangs gave the Trojans, who were receiving votes in the latest national coaches’ poll, the momentum they needed to defeat Morningside 3-0, with scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-13.
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Morningside's women's volleyball team continued GPAC play today, traveling to no. 6 Jamestown today. The Mustangs fell to the top 10 opponent, 25-12, 25-19, and 25-19.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – There was a good crowd on hand for Morningside's women's volleyball home opener, as the Mustangs welcomed the Raiders of Northwestern College to Allee Gym for both teams' first game of the Great Plains Athletic Conference season. The no. 8 Raiders lived up to their billing, sweeping Morningside 3-0 with scores of 25-10, 25-13, and 25-16.
PARKVILLE, MO. – Morningside women's volleyball faced another tough day of competition today, stretching matches with the University of Saint Mary Spires and the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees out to four sets apiece. The Mustangs fell in both matches, losing to the Spires 22-25, 25-15, 25-18, and 25-16 and the Bees 26-24, 23-25, 25-15, and 25-20.
PARKVILLE, MO. – Morningside traveled to Park University today, to compete in the opening day of the Park University Classic. The Mustangs, matched with the host Pirates who are ranked no. 6 nationally, fought through three tough sets, losing to Park 25-16, 25-17, and 25-20.
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Morningside concluded its season opening tournament appearance on a better note than it started, knocking off Loyola 3-0 before seeing a five-set scrap with West Virginia University Institute of Technology slip away.
