Sporrer Advances to NAIA Finals with No. 3 Time in Steeplechase
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Courtney Sporrer punched her ticket to Friday’s 3000-meter steeplechase finals at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Track and Field Championship last night in heat one of the event’s preliminary round, running a season-best time of 10:55.47.

Sporrer shaved nearly eight seconds off her entry time of 11:03.05, qualifying for the finals automatically as the no. 3 finisher in her heat. Heat 2 was completed earlier today, after the weather conditions forced it to be postponed.
The top five finishers from each heat qualified automatically, while the next four times in the field received a pass. Two additional competitors moved on from heat one, after the second heat was completed today. Times 1-5 all came from the first heat.
According to the NAIA's championship schedule page and the event timing website, the women's steeplechase finals will be held at 1:30 p.m. central time.
