Sporrer leads Mustangs to the podium at Sioux City Relays
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Courney Sporrer secured another first place finish this weekend, leading 10 events to the Sioux City Relay podium at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Courney Sporrer secured another first place finish this weekend, leading 10 events to the Sioux City Relay podium at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
Sporrer placed first in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:49.94, shortly followed by Nicole Zuehl in second with a time of 4:57.63.
In the steeplechase, Jillian Fierro completed the 3,000-meter course in 14:02.21, placing second.
Ella Stapek took fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 23:54.06. Lillian Dahlhauser and Gabby Ryan placed fifth and sixth respectively in the 10,000-meter run. Dahlhauser had a time of 42:33.50 and Ryan crossed in 42:48.96.
Meredith Draper placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.99. Sydney Brouwer took seventh in the 400-meter dash at 1:04.57.
Sporrer finished eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.34, followed by Morgan Sachs, Jolee Mesz, and Zuehl. Sachs took 10th with a time of 2:21.96, Mesz 11th with a time of 2:22.27, and Zuehl 13th with a time of 2:24.22.
In field events, Kinsey Alt placed second in the long jump with a distance of 4.91 meters, Aleena Edwards took fourth in the javelin throw with 34.00 meters, and Maddy Stanek placed fifth in the shot put with 10.98 meters.
Mesz, Sachs, Brouwer, and Sporrer placed third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:08.90.
The Mustangs return to action April 16 and 17 in Orange City, Iowa at the Red Raider Open.
