Mesz, Ryan Lead Mustangs with Runner-Up Finishes at Wayne

WAYNE, Neb. – Morningside's indoor track and field teams continue to push for better seed times for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships with just under two weeks remaining until the meet.
Jolee Mesz led the Mustangs in the 800 meters, collecting a second place finish in 2:20.94, a season best. Madison Sporrer followed in third at 2:21.41, Morgan Sachs was sixth in 2:23.36, and Nicole Zuehl was eighth in 2:24.69.
Gabby Ryan matched Mesz' runner-up finish with a second place PR in the 3,000 meters, finishing the race in 10:38.62.
Shelby Mills finished just outside the top 10 in the weight throw, placing 11th with a throw of 14.49 meters.
Morningside will hit the competition circuit again on Feb. 13, hoping to make the most of the Mount Marty Last Chance meet one week before the GPAC Championships.
