GREENWOOD, IND. – The Morningside women's tennis program continues to receive accolades for the 2023-24 season, as Delfina Stuzynska and Emily Clotfelter represented the Mustangs on College Sports Communicators' Academic All-America teams.
Stuzynska, a senior from Brussels, Belgium, was selected First Team Academic All-America by the CSC's membership. Clotfelter, a senior from Fairfield, Mont., received a second team selection. The duo is among 12 athletes to receive Academic All-America honors, selected from a field of 69 Academic All-District honorees.
Stuzynska and Clotfelter represent Morningside's first Academic All-Americans since College Sports Communicators created an independent ballot for tennis in 2023. The Mustangs had eight women's tennis Academic All-Americans under the previous model, when tennis was part of the CSC's at-large program.
The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for a combination of success on the court and in the classroom, requiring that nominees maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better and participate in at least 70 percent of total matches that include team scores.
