Women's tennis comes up short at Grinnell
GRINNELL, IOWA – The Mustangs launched into their spring break schedule yesterday, playing Division III Grinnell College as the team heads south. Morningside grappled with the Pioneers, but suffered just its second loss of the season, losing 5-4.
GRINNELL, IOWA – The Mustangs launched into their spring break schedule yesterday, playing Division III Grinnell College as the team heads south. Morningside grappled with the Pioneers, but suffered just its second loss of the season, losing 5-4.
The Mustangs were able to avoid the sweep in doubles as Line Jensen and Delfina Stuzynska picked up an 8-7 win courtesy of a 7-1 tiebreaker.
Jensen doubled down, giving Morningside its first singles victory of the match as she won 6-4, 7-6 with a 7-3 tiebreaker.
Lidia Suarez added a 6-2, 6-2 victory for Morningside at no. 6 singles, and Emily Clotfelter won 7-5, 6-4 in the no. 5 slot.
The Mustangs are back at it today, playing William Woods at 1 p.m.
