Mustangs Come in Clutch Late in Midland Dual
FREMONT, Neb. — The Morningside women’s swim team edged Midland, 71–70, on Saturday at the Dillon Family Aquatic Center, using depth, balanced scoring, and a closing relay victory to secure the dual win.

The Mustangs sealed the meet with a strong performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Leonor Vendima Coelho, Elena Santelli, Alice Mahoney, and Delaney Biesecker combined for a winning time of 3:55.52. Coelho also added an individual victory in the 50 freestyle (25.79), leading a 1–3–5 Morningside finish in the sprint.
Santelli delivered another key win in the 200 backstroke (2:24.34), and Mahoney topped the 200 breaststroke (2:43.23), helping the Mustangs post event victories across all strokes. Biesecker added runner-up finishes in both the 200 freestyleand the 100 freestyle, contributing valuable points.
Morningside makes a splash in the pool again next week as the Mustangs head north to Minnesota-Morris on Nov. 22.
