Hammarlund earns GPAC Player of the Week following hat trick

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Following her hat trick on Saturday, Morningside midfielder Tuva Hammarlund on Tuesday was named the GPAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Hammarlund scored all three of her goals in the first 66 minutes of Saturday's 6-1 win over Midland. The Swedish junior scored her first goal 70 seconds in, then scored goal Nos. 2 and 3 in the 63rd and 66th minute. She took just four shots.

On the season, Hammarlund has scored five times on nine shots. She has 12 goals in 44 matches as a Mustang.

The Mustangs (5-1-2) are at home this Saturday at 8 p.m. against Concordia.
