ELGIN, Ill. -- The Morningside women's soccer team continued its unbeaten start with a commanding 3-0 win at Judson (IL) on Saturday.
The Mustangs struck early and never looked back, riding a first-half hat trick from junior midfielder Melissa Tsatiris. She found the net just 44 seconds into the match off a feed from Tuva Hammarlund, then doubled the lead in the 21st minute when Ida Carlsson slipped her through. Barely two minutes later, Tsatiris capped the flurry with an unassisted strike to complete her three-goal outburst.
From there, the Mustang defense took over. Goalkeeper Moriah Dixson recorded seven saves to secure her second clean sheet of the season. Morningside's back line limited Judson to just seven total shots compared to 22 from the Mustangs.
The win lifts Morningside to 3-0-2 on the year, extending its unbeaten run to five matches.
