Mustangs selected fourth in GPAC preseason poll

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside University women's soccer team on Thursday was voted fourth by Great Plains Athletic Conference coaches in the preseason poll.

The Mustangs received 89 points, eight behind third-ranked Dordt.

Last season, the Mustangs went 8-6-4, securing the No. 4 seed in the GPAC Postseason Tournament. They beat Briar Cliff in the conference quarterfinals before falling to preseason favorite Hastings in the semifinals.

The Mustangs defended home pitch well in 2024 with a 7-1-2 record. Their 2025 home opener is 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, against Bellevue.
