Messersmith named NAIA, GPAC player of the week

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its players of the week for women's soccer today, including Morningside's Megan Messersmith as the defensive player of the week.

Messersmith, who was announced as the Great Plains Athletic Conference defensive player of the week earlier today, recorded 19 saves in the week's two games, allowing one goal against Hastings College before tallying a clean sheet against Doane.

The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday, playing Concordia University at 5:30 p.m.
