FREMONT, NEB. – The midflelding combination of junior Samantha O'Roy (Antelope, Calif.) and freshman Nathalie Larsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) combined for six total shots, but the effort was to no avail for visiting Morningside University Saturday, Oct. 16.
Two of Larsson's three offensive attempts were fired directly at the home Midland University net. However, in each instance and three others, Warriors netminder Mackenzie Smith repelled the Heedum Field scoreboard-tying strikes.
At the other end of the pitch, Midland managed to slip a shot past Mside senior goalkeeper Sarah Finn (Tampa, Fla.). It occurred in the second minute of the first half and held up for a 1-0 Great Plains Athletic Conference final. Finn did manage to collect three saves over the 90 minutes.
Mside (7-5-1 overall, 4-4-1 GPAC) continues four in a row on the road Thursday, Oct. 21. They take on Viterbo University of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
