Wilcox gains KCAC academic honor
Sophomore midfielder/attacker Ashley Wilcox (SO/Council Bluffs, Iowa) (Council Bluffs, Iowa) added another more history to Morningside College's men's and women's lacrosse programs Thursday, April 9.
She represented head coach Keith Lindgren's women's program on the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete awards sponsored by Barnes and Noble College. Nine institutions were recognized with Benedictine College leading the way with eight honorees. The group was made up of nine sophomores, nineteen juniors, and seventeen seniors. Student-athletes must have had sophomore standing at the start of the sport season, and maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
Wilcox produced two shots on goal and gathered four ground balls in the Maroon's lone 2020 appearance at Ottawa University in late February.
