Mustangs win home meet led by Brown, Becerra-Diaz

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside women's golf team defended its home course in style Monday and Tuesday, winning the Mustang Derby by 14 strokes at Whispering Creek Golf Course.

Lucy Brown and Ivanna Becerra-Diaz tied for second individually at 151 (+7). Brown led Morningside on Tuesday with an even-par 72.
Kamryn Zuniga placed fifth at 154 (+10), followed by Aidan Sander in a tie for 11th at 165 (+21) and Kendra Casey in 17th at 168 (+24).
Morningside's "B" team also turned in a solid performance, placing fifth with a 692 total. Alysen Sander led the reserves with an eighth-place finish at 164 (+20). Other contributors included Macy Button and Ella Welsh, tied for 23rd at 172, Ainsley Hergert in 31st at 184, and Kaylee Hanson in 42nd at 212.
