Morningside takes fifth, is top NAIA finisher at Southwest Minnesota State Invite
MARSHALL, MINN. – The Morningside University women’s golf team earned a fifth-place finish at the Minnesota State Invitational this weekend, highlighted by top-five individual performances from Kamryn Zuniga and Lucy Brown.
MARSHALL, MINN. – The Morningside University women's golf team earned a fifth-place finish at the Minnesota State Invitational this weekend, highlighted by top-five individual performances from Kamryn Zuniga and Lucy Brown.
The Mustangs shot 52-over-par across two rounds, bouncing back from a 36-over opening day with a strong 16-over second round to climb into the top five of the 13-team field.
Zuniga and Brown each tied for fourth at 8-over, with Zuniga carding rounds of 77 and 75, and Brown firing 79 and 73. Both players finished just six shots behind the top finisher from Minnesota State.
Kendra Casey was the Mustangs' next counting golfer, who finished tied for 26th at 17-over.
Morningside's final outing of the fall comes on the other side of homecoming weekend as it competes in the Mustang Derby on Oct. 6 and 7 at Whispering Creek Golf Club.
