Castelan grabs her fourth GPAC Golfer of the Week award of the season

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – For the fourth time this season, Sofia Castelan has won the GPAC's women's golfer of the week award for her performance at the 2024 Concordia Bulldog Spring Invitational.

Over the course of three rounds, Castelan shot 18-over to tie with Iowa Western's Baylie Pyke for the individual title. Castelan, a senior from Queretaro, Mexico, defeated Pyke in a playoff for the individual championship. Her first round score of 76 was the lowest round score in the tournament. 

Castelan also led the Mustangs to a second place finish in the team competition, two strokes behind Iowa Western and 60 strokes ahead of the next best GPAC team. 

The Mustangs are at the College of Saint Mary Invite Thursday.
