Morningside opens season at Midwest Collegiate Championships
MILWAUKEE, WISC. – Morningside women’s bowling hit the lanes for the first time this season at the beginning of the month, competing in the Midwest Collegiate Championships on October 7 and 8 at Milwaukee’s AMF West. The Mustangs placed 22nd in the 36 team field, totaling 7872 pins following the completion of individual play and Baker games.

The Mustangs placed 22nd in the 36 team field, totaling 7872 pins following the completion of individual play and Baker games.
While Morningside's individual bowlers averaged 176.2 pins per game, Carissa Johnson paced the Mustangs with an average of 193.33 pins per game. Emaly Kruse followed with 185.17 pins per game and Rachel Spier was third in line with 182.
Johnson placed 22nd individually with her total of 1,160 pins, rolling a team-leading 223 in her opening game. Kruse totaled 1,111, placing 42nd. Spier was 53rd, with 1092 total pins.
The Mustangs are back in action this weekend, competing in the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge in Lawrence, Kan.
