The RV Mustangs (3-0) trailed 40-33 at halftime but outscored the Coyotes 43-24 the rest of the way, fueled by dominant play in the paint and a 43-27 rebounding advantage. Morningside shot 43 percent from the field and scored 58 of its 76 points inside.
Lily Vollertsen led the Mustangs with 21 points and 10 rebounds, recording her second double-double of the young season. Clancy Brown added 16 points, nine boards and four assists, while Jaeden Webb contributed eight points and four rebounds. Annie Harms chipped in seven points and three assists, and Kinsey Hall finished with four points and four rebounds.
Morningside took control midway through the third quarter with a 12-2 run and sealed the win by going 17-for-25 from the free-throw line throughout the game.
