Bio
Brooke Pruner was named the Mustangs' next head softball coach ahead of the 2023 season, taking over the top spot after serving as an assistant in Morningside's program since the 2017-18 campaign.
Pruner is a 2015 graduate of Briar Cliff University, where she majored in sports science. She was an assistant coach at Sioux City Bishop Heelan Catholic High School for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
A four-year starter at Briar Cliff, she batted .292 with 10 home runs and 71 RBIs during her career. Lyman earned second-team All-GPAC honors as a junior and honorable mention All-GPAC recognition as a senior. Her best season came as a senior when she hit a career-high .358 and led the Chargers with nine doubles, two triples and 29 RBIs. She was a versatile player at Briar Cliff, where she played every position except pitcher during her career.
Pruner received a master’s degree in exercise science from Wichita State University in 2017.
