Harrel Homers Twice as Mustangs Sweep Northwestern
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside’s offense was clicking in today’s Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader with Northwestern, as the Mustangs won 14-6 in six innings and 9-4 to wrap up the evening.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside's offense was clicking in today's Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader with Northwestern, as the Mustangs won 14-6 in six innings and 9-4 to wrap up the evening.
Jalyn Noelle, Adeline Fliege, and Bralen Biddlecome each had four hits in the opener, with Noelle coming around to score four times and Fliege collecting four RBIs. Jenna Skradski had three hits, three RBIs, and came around to score twice.
Fliege started the day in the circle, giving up four earned runs in 5.2 innings on eight hits, including two home runs. Biddlecome took over on the rubber in the top of the sixth, forcing her first batter to record the out to end what would turn out to be the final inning.
Biddlecome would go the distance in the second contest, with four earned runs and eight hits on the way to the win.
Mackenzi Harrel was the hero at the plate in game two, tattooing a pair of homers over the outfield fence for two of her four hits, collecting four RBIs in the process. Emma Barwick also had two RBIs in the contest.
Morningside is back at Jensen this weekend, hosting Midland at 3 and 5 p.m. on Friday and Mount Marty at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
