Bio
Rulin Pederson was promoted to the position of head coach for men's wrestling ahead of the 2023-24 season. He was previously part of Morningside's coaching staff for the 2015-16 season and served as the head assistant coach for the 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2022-23 campaigns.
Pederson was a formidable opponent in his days in a singlet for Morningside, competing at 174 and 184 pounds. He earned back-to-back NAIA All-American honors in 2014 and 2015, was first team all-conference in 2013 and 2014, second team all-conference in 2015, and ranked in the program's top 20 for all-time victories. He was a three-time national qualifier for the Mustangs, wrestling on two GPAC dual championship teams and one tournament championship team.
Pederson holds his bachelor's from Morningside and earned his master's degree in professional school counseling at Buena Vista.
