Connor picks up league honor

Sophomore 157-pounder wrestler Caleb Connor (Papillion, Neb.) represented Morningside University on the Great Plains Athletic Conference's Wrestler of the Week honors for the period of Monday, Jan. 31, through Sunday, Feb. 6.

Connor worked his way through the 157-pound weight class bracket en route to the championship at the Dave Edmonds/Sioux City Open on Feb. 5. He picked up a pin and three decisions, including an overtime 3-2 win in the final over Fabian Padilla of Iowa Western Community College, who was ranked second in the NJCAA.

Connor takes an 8-3 record and five-match win streak into the 2022 GPAC Championships Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18 and 19.
