Kruger, Moseman lead Mustangs at GPAC meet

FREMONT, Neb. — The Morningside men's track and field team was powered by a conference title from Theo Moseman and multiple All-Conference performances over two days at the GPAC Outdoor Championships, hosted this year by Midland.
Moseman delivered the top performance of the weekend for the Mustangs, winning the 400-meter race in 47.77 seconds to claim the GPAC title and earn 10 team points.
Lane Kruger had two Top 5 placings this weekend — he placed second in the 200 meters in 21.75 to score eight points, then contributed a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters in 10.81.
In the hurdles, Boston Riedemann earned All-Conference honors with a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.11, continuing a strong season in the event.
Luke Paulsen placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 172 feet, 5 inches.
In distance events, Eein McKinley recorded a seventh-place finish in the 10,000 meters in 31:57.44 to secure All-Conference honors, while the Mustangs added depth across the distance lineup throughout the meet.
Morningside's relay teams also contributed key points. The 4x100-meter relay team of Lynx Gregoire Jr., Kruger, Jackson Kling and Moseman placed third in 41.70, earning six points and an All-Conference finish. The 4x400-meter relay added a seventh-place finish, while the 4x800-meter relay placed eighth to round out the team's scoring.
The Mustangs placed eighth as a team, collecting 42 points.
With a conference champion, multiple All-Conference finishes and momentum building, the Mustangs will now look ahead to hosting the GPAC Outdoor Championships next spring at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
