Johnson, 4x800-meter relay lead Morningside at Red Raider Invite
Morningside Men’s Track and Field took a midweek trip to Orange City this week to compete in Northwestern’s Red Raider Invite.
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Morningside Men's Track and Field took a midweek trip to Orange City this week to compete in Northwestern's Red Raider Invite.
The 4x800-meter relay saw Morningside's team place first with Casey Kruger, Chayton Rowe, Laken Bellis, and Cade Johnson securing the top spot with a time of 8:08.24.
Parker Halder placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:32.80. Halder also took fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:08.67, immediately followed by RC Hicks in sixth with a time of 16:13.22
Johnson added to the week's portfolio, placing second in the triple jump, with a leap of 13.61 meters, and 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.04 seconds.
Theo Moseman took fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 49.81. Kadyn Cline followed in 11th with a time of 51.15 seconds.
Leighton Oleson placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.72 seconds and eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.62, followed by Lane Kruger in 10th at 22.75 seconds and Jack Kling in 12th at 23.04 seconds.
The Mustangs return to competition on April 22, at the Mount Marty Twilight in Yankton, S.D.
