Mustangs post strong all-around performance at USD

Junior Boston Riedemann led the Mustangs in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking an 8.88 in the preliminary round, while classmate Aiden Holverson followed with a time of 9.07.
In the sprints, sophomore Lane Kruger paced Morningside in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.05, while Brody Weeks added a mark of 24.24. Junior Theo Moseman highlighted the 400 meters with a season-best time of 50.16, and Cooper Haddix and Kyle McDonald rounded out the event with times of 54.96 and 58.44, respectively.
The Mustangs showed depth in the 800 meters, led by junior Braden Sonksen, who posted a time of 2:02.85. Senior Casey Kruger followed closely in 2:03.26, while Jaelonni Small, Laken Bellis, Kael Hamann, Chayton Rowe, and Logan Stowater also competed in the event.
In the mile, senior Parker Halder led the way with a time of 4:32.26, while Eein McKinley, Austin Ramold, and Mason Welker gained early-season experience. Halder also doubled back in the 3,000 meters, finishing first in 9:18.73, followed by RC Hicks in 9:23.94 and McKinley in 9:25.69.
In the throws, sophomore Zach Luze competed in both the shot put and weight throw, recording marks of 11.84 metersand 11.78 meters, respectively.
Morningside capped the meet with a strong showing in the 4x400-meter relay, as the quartet of Lane Kruger, Theo Moseman, Braden Sonksen, and Casey Kruger posted a time of 3:30.35.
The Mustangs will continue their indoor schedule next week, sending some events to the Concordia Polar Dog Invite on Friday and others to the Dennis Young Alumni Classic at Buena Vista on Saturday.
