Morningside started with a 2-1 win in doubles, as Santiago Minetti and Gabriel Whiston and Mathys Arnold and Jesse Gerth each picked up 6-2 victories.
As the match moved to singles play, Morningside kept the pressure on, as Jesse Gerth won the no. 5 match 6-1, 6-4. Alexis Diaz followed with a 7-6 win with a 7-3 tiebreaker, followed by his opponent retiring as Diaz opened up a 1-0 advantage. Marcos Menendez Hervella clinched the match with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win at no. 1.
Arnold added another singles win with a 7-6 (7-5) win, 3-6 loss, with a 10-3 super tiebreaker, and Santiago Minetti fell 4-6 before coming back 7-6 with a 7-5 tiebreaker, 6-3.
Gabriel Whiston fell in a highly-contested no. 6 match, winning 7-6 with a 7-2 tiebreaker, before falling 6-4 and 11-9.
Morningside is back in action on March 14 against Bethel before beginning conference play on March 21.
