Mustangs Reach New Program High in Preseason Tennis Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Morningside Men’s Tennis continued to make program history as it reached its highest-ever national ranking in this year’s preseason coaches poll, checking in at no. 13.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Morningside Men's Tennis continued to make program history as it reached its highest-ever national ranking in this year's preseason coaches poll, checking in at no. 13.
The Mustangs were last year's Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champions, advancing to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Tennis Championships in Alabama.
Morningside is off to a 3-1 start this season, having lost to now no. 18 Missouri Baptist, after posting a 24-2 record last year. The Mustangs are the only ranked GPAC team, with no other teams appearing in the release.
The Mustangs received 153 points in the preseason poll, which is voted on by a panel of coaches representing each conference and the group of independent institutions.
