Mustang men repeat as GPAC Tournament Champions
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – It was nearly perfect tennis weather at the Mason Family Tennis Complex this morning as the Morningside Mustangs and Concordia Bulldogs clashed in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament Championship. The Mustangs came out on top, adding more hardware to the season trophy case as they repeated at GPAC Tournament Champions, 4-0.

The Mustangs came out on top, adding more hardware to the season trophy case as they repeated at GPAC Tournament Champions, 4-0.
Morningside did what it needed to in doubles play, locking up the doubles point to get an early advantage with victories by Mathys Arnold and Jesse Gerth in the no. 3 spot (6-3) and Marcos Menendez Hervella and Alexis Diaz at no. 2 (7-5).
Arnold was quick to add to Morningside's lead, winning the no. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-1. Diaz won at no. 3 7-5, 6-3, and Santiago Minetti came back to win the no. 4 match to clinch the title 7-5, 6-2.
The Mustangs, by virtue of winning the GPAC tournament, have secured the league's automatic qualifying bid to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men's Tennis National Championships, held May 13-17 in Mobile, Ala.
