Men's Tennis suffers season's first setback in Hilton Head
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Morningside’s men collected their first loss of the tennis season in this week’s spring break trip finale, falling 6-1 to Division II Lake Superior State.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Morningside's men collected their first loss of the tennis season in this week's spring break trip finale, falling 6-1 to Division II Lake Superior State.
The Mustangs avoided being swept, as Mathys Arnold and Jesse Gerth won their doubles match 7-5, and avoided the shutout as Arnold slugged out a no. 5 singles win, coming back 4-6, 6-4, 12-10.
Marcus Menendez nearly put the Mustangs on the board with the first singles match in the books, a 6-4, 2-6, 6-10 loss in the no. 2 position.
Morningside heads home and is back on the court on March 13, playing Bethel in Newton, Kan.
