SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside's men's soccer team claimed its first player of the week honors, handed down by the Great Plains Athletic Conference and sponsored by Hauf Mid-America Sports. Receiving the player of the week title were Gero Zarbo, for offense, and Bjarne Huth, for defense.
Zarbo's title comes in a week that he netted the game winning goal in Morningside's victory over Presentation. The junior from Berlin, Germany, also collected a vital insurance goal to put away the win at Jamestown.
Huth is no stranger to the defensive title, receiving it last season. This week, the senior keeper from Bad Vilbel, Germany, tallied two clean sheets while recording seven saves.
The Mustangs return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 21, when they play Northwestern College at 8 p.m.
