PROSPER, Texas — The Morningside men’s golf team resumed its season with a sixth-place performance recently at the Texas Invitational at Gentle Creek Golf Course.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Ryan Cavanaugh was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, following a second-place finish at Morningside’s Mustang Derby, in which he led the Mustangs to the team title.
The Mustangs turned in a team score of 595, three shots ahead of Jamestown. Ryan Cavanaugh was the leading golfer for Morningside, as he was tied for second with a 36-hole score of 146.
ORANGE CITY, IOWA – Morningside improved its standing in the two-day, three-round Siouxland Invite, co-hosted by Dordt and Northwestern in the final 18 holes. Before play began on day two, the Mustangs found themselves sitting in sixth place, but by the time the final ball was retrieved from the final cup, they had moved up to fifth place with a total of 880 strokes.
LINCOLN, NEB. – The Mustangs fought through three rounds of tough competition this week at the Blue River Classic, hosted by Doane University at the Highlands Golf Course. Morningside placed fifth in the contest, posting a combined score of 880 strokes.
