Morningside places second at Red Raider Classic Monday

Morningside finished the 36 hole event with a team score of 35-over par. The Mustangs led by one after round one, but ultimately fell to the host team, Northwestern. Morningside finished one shot ahead of Doane and three ahead of Dordt. Morningside had another team in action Monday, and that group placed in a tie for fifth place at 48-over.
For Morningside's second place team, Philip Mangset tied for sixth with an 8-over 150. Braden Bernaldo, Pablo Colin, and Brandon Gratton tied for eighth at 9-over.
James Evans, competing for the fifth place team, tied for third individually at 5-over. Evans shot a 73 and 74 to score a 147 on the day. Jackson Mann joined fellow Mustangs Bernaldo, Colin, and Gratton at 9-over in a tie for eighth.
Morningside is back in action at the Hawkeye Community College Invite in Waterloo, Iowa Friday and Saturday for its final competition before the GPAC Championship in Beatrice, Nebraska at the end of the month.
