Two Mustangs place inside top five at LTU Spring Break Invitational

Morningside finished 20-over par as a team to take third. No. 20 Lawrence Tech won the team title with a 9-over team score and receiving votes Campbellsville took second place at 15-over. The Mustangs are also receiving votes and rounded out the top three for the tournament, climbing one spot on the final day.
Braden Bernaldo had a share of the lead after an even-par 72 in round one. Philip Mangset was tied for fourth at 1-over after round one. Bernaldo took the solo lead in the second round with a 5-under 67 to lead by two shots with 18 holes to play.
Bernaldo's worst round of the week came in the third round, but it was still a strong 1-over 73 to win by two. He finished with a total of 212 strokes, or 4-under par, for the tournament. Mangset was consistent over the course of three days, finishing in a tie for fifth at 2-over. The Mustangs had a third finisher inside the top 20, as Pablo Colin shot 75 all three days for a 9-over 225 to tie for 15th.
Edgar Eriksson tied for 29th at 18-over and Jackson Mann tied for 46th at 21-over, but had a strong 2-over 74 in the final round to help the Mustangs climb a spot in the team standings.
Morningside is back in action in Kansas City at the Staco Spring Classic March 25-26.
