Morningside competes with national field in Le Mars
LE MARS, Iowa – The Mustang men’s golf team took on a loaded field at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational in Le Mars Monday and Tuesday, finishing tied for 7th.
LE MARS, Iowa – The Mustang men's golf team took on a loaded field at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational in Le Mars Monday and Tuesday, finishing tied for 7th.
The Mustangs, who are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll, finish 44-over par as a team to tie with Southwestern Christian and Kansas Wesleyan. Texas Wesleyan beat out Ottawa (Ariz.) and MidAmerica Nazarene for the top spot in a tightly contested competition.
Braden Bernaldo and Jackson Mann both finished 4-over for the tournament to tie for 11th individually. Will Topolski tied for 30th at 12-over and Pablo Colin tied for 36th at 14-over.
The final two Morningside golfers in competition were Philip Mangset (+19) and Edgar Eriksson (+22).
The Mustangs are back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Iowa Western Community College Invite.
