Storied Saturday – Under par final 18 headlines impressive weekend

The senior trio of Sam Storey (Surrey, England), Xan Milligan (Hexham, England), and Jonny Douglas (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) made a significant share of the individual first five after competition at Woodland Hills and Collegiate Heights Golf Courses. Storey earned his fourth medalist honor of 2021-22, led by a one-under-par 71 to conclude a 36-hole 143. Milligan fired a 73 Saturday to climb to second (149), and Douglas carded twin 75s for a 150 to place in a tie for third.
With those outings leading the way, head coach Nick Wanderscheid's squad carded a two-day 600. The nation's No. 25-ranked team played Woodland Hills to a 307 and Collegiate Heights to a 293, besting the field by eight shots on day one and 11 strokes on day two. The final team leaderboard victory over runner-up Hastings College was 24 shots.
Morningside continues its 2022 spring season Wednesday, April 6, with its junior varsity team competing at the Midland University Invitational and Thursday through Saturday, April 7-9 with the varsity at the Lawrence Tech Invitational at TPC Deere Run.
