Douglas, Storey spearhead final-round charge
PINE MOUNTAIN, GA. – The senior combination of Jonny Douglas (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) and Sam Storey (Surrey, England) both played their way into the individual top 10 at Point University of Georgia’s Skyhawk Invitational Monday and Tuesday, March 7 and 8.

Storey carded a one-over-par 73 on the challenging Callaway Gardens Mountain View layout. Wrapping up a 72-hole resume where he improved at each turn, his 222 total was tied for fifth with Reinhardt University's Chanc Willis. Douglas followed his classmate's recipe, lowering his round scores each day en route to a 225 that placed him in a tie for ninth with Cy Smith of the University of Mobile.
Head coach Nick Wanderscheid's squad kept climbing up the team leaderboard over the two days and three rounds. Mside wound up fifth and within eight strokes of the first three. They departed with a 911, spotlighted by a final 18 298, which was Tuesday's third-lowest.
Morningside is scheduled to be back in action on March 27 and 28 at the Eagle Spring Classic.
