WINONA LAKE, Ind. — The Morningside men's basketball team fell 96-81 to Grace College on Friday night, evening its record at 1-1.
The 19th-ranked Mustangs shot 54 percent from the field and led 41-39 at halftime before the Lancers pulled away in the second half, shooting nearly 65 percent after the break.
Senior Daniel Brocaille led Morningside with 20 points on 5-of-11 shooting and a 7-for-8 effort from the free-throw line. He also grabbed five rebounds and collected three steals. Alex Wilcoxson added 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Fitzy Grant scored 13 points and Caleb Dreckman contributed nine points and four assists. Tyson Odvody added nine points off the bench.
Morningside opened the game on a 12-0 run, including five points from Grant. Wilcoxson started the game with a 3-pointer.
