Chevalier, Sellon Repeat as AP First Team All-Americans
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Associated Press released its list of All-America honors for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics football season today, naming Zack Chevalier and Drew Sellon repeat First Team All-Americans and Cale Pittenger to his first Second Team honor.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Associated Press released its list of All-America honors for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics football season today, naming Zack Chevalier and Drew Sellon repeat First Team All-Americans and Cale Pittenger to his first Second Team honor.
Chevalier, a senior quarterback from Sioux City, Iowa, amassed 3,862 yards and 42 touchdowns this season, averaging 321.8 yards per game. He was also selected as a Third Team NAIA All-American.
Sellon, a junior wide receiver and Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, had 77 catches this season for 1,360 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 123.6 yards per game and 17.7 per catch. The Fremont, Neb., native was selected as a First Team All-American by both the AFCA and the NAIA coaches' bodies.
Pittenger, also a junior, had 9.5 sacks, which ranks fifth in the NAIA. He had 26 solo tackles and 21 assists for 47 total tackles. The Sioux City, Iowa, native had 14.5 tackles for loss for 66 total yards, while forcing three fumbles and recovering one loose ball.
