Chevalier named GPAC Offensive Player of the Week
Morningside University senior quarterback Zack Chevalier was named Monday as the Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a 41-31 win over Hastings. Chevalier on Saturday was 33-for-45 passing for 381 yards and four touchdowns.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Morningside University senior quarterback Zack Chevalier was named Monday as the Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Chevalier on Saturday was 33-for-45 passing for 381 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-31 win over Hastings. He threw six completions of 20 yards or more — two each to Lennx Brown, Drew Sellon and Jakob Nelson.
Of his four TD passes, three were for 20 yards or more, with Chevalier's longest TD pass coming in the first quarter to Sellon for 52 yards.
This season, Chevalier has 1,381 yards on 97 completions. He's collected 16 TD passes and thrown just four interceptions.
Chevalier has 6,662 career passing yards entering Saturday's Homecoming game against Waldorf, and he's amassed 63 TDs.
This is the fourth time Chevalier has won GPAC Player of the Week honors.
