Passing attack lights up the scoreboard in 38-7 win over Doane

Morningside and Doane played to a 3-0 game after one quarter as the offense started slow on both sides. Lennx Brown came into the game on the third drive of the game for Morningside and worked the offense down the field, capping the 13-play, 78-yard drive with a three-yard pass to Griffin Kraft.
Brown led a second touchdown drive on the next Morningside possession, lasting 12 plays and ending on a seven-yard Brown pass to Drew Sellon. Cash Parker returned to the game and connected with Zach Norton for a 19-yard score with 47 seconds left until halftime.
Morningside had the ball to start the second half, but an interception gave Doane the ball, and three plays later, the Tigers scored to make it 24-7.
The offense couldn't respond in the third quarter, but less than a minute into the fourth, Parker tossed a touchdown to Joshua Simmons, and three-and-a-half minutes later, the Mustangs scored on a Parker pass to Laken Harnly for 64 yards.
The Mustangs controlled the line of scrimmage all game long, totaling 183 rushing yards and not taking a sack offensively. The defense totaled 47 rushing yards allowed and totaled 13 tackles-for-loss.
Jaylen Burch totaled 64 yards rushing for the Mustangs. Bryson Freeberg rushed for 58 yards and Brown 53. Passing, Parker totaled 205 passing yards and three scores. Brown added 70 yards on 11-of-13 passing, and two scores.
Sellon led receivers with seven receptions for 72 yards and a score. Norton tallied 60 receiving yards and a score. Kraft, Harnly, and Simmons picked up touchdown grabs.
Defensively, the reigning player of the week Isaac Pingel total six solo tackles, six assisted tackles, five tackles-for-loss and two sacks. Dijion Walls recorded an interception for the defense, as well as two pass breakups.
