WACO, TEXAS – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Football Coaches Association announced their 2022 All-American teams today. Four Morningsiders achieved first- or second-team honors from both the NAIA and the AFCA.
Joe Dolincheck was, for the second time, named a first-team All-American after leading the nation in passing yards and touchdowns.
Tyler Anderson and Austin Johnson earned offensive second-team All-American honors, while Weston Schultz earned the Mustangs' lone defensive honor, being named to the second team.
The AFCA's NAIA All-America Selection Committee is made up of two head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman on which the team is chosen.
