Cole, Payne named GPAC players of the week
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its football players of the week for week 10 today, including Morningside’s Ryan Cole as the offensive player of the week and Michael Payne as the special teams player of the week.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its football players of the week for week 10 today, including Morningside's Ryan Cole as the offensive player of the week and Michael Payne as the special teams player of the week.
Cole's award came following the outing with Doane in which he had 181 yards of total offense, with 171 yards on the ground. He ran for three touchdowns, including a 60-yard scamper in the third quarter.
Payne's day was highlighted by a 65-yard punt return touchdown. He also had a 12-yard kick return to improve Morningside's starting position early in the game.
Morningside concludes its regular season on the road this weekend, traveling to Concordia in Seward, Neb.
