Dolincheck, Pingel named Week 1 Players of the Week by GPAC, NAIA
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced their Week 1 Players of the Week, including Morningside’s Joe Dolincheck and Isaac Pingel.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced their Week 1 Players of the Week, including Morningside's Joe Dolincheck and Isaac Pingel.
Dolincheck, a senior from Bellevue, Neb. was the offensive selection following 27 completions in 35 attempts against Northwestern, throwing for 351 yards and three touchdowns. Dolincheck also rushed for 35 yards, with 19 of them coming on a third-and-8 scamper with 1:29 to play, gaining a first down to allow Morningside to ride out the clock and secure Saturday's win.
Pingel was named the defensive selection, following a week in which he recorded 11 total tackles. The junior linebacker from Spencer, Iowa recorded two sacks, one of which resulted in the safety that proved to be crucial points for the Mustangs.
Morningside's Week 2 contest takes it to no. 21 Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 10 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
