Northwestern victory propels Mside up national poll

On the final 2021 regular season National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics First Down Playbook top 25, Morningside University registered a 10th successive best five listing Monday, Nov. 8.

Head coach Steve Ryan's squad, harboring a 9-0 record in the wake of the program's 11th straight Great Plains Athletic Conference championship that was clinched following a 55-49 win over NWC Nov. 6, received 427 ranking points and one first-place vote. Defending champion Lindsey Wilson College of Kentucky was the only school in front of the Mustangs with 18 first-place votes and 444 poll points. Grand View College of Iowa, Northwestern College and Kansas Wesleyan University rounded out the first five.
