They topped the poll for a sixth straight week and 26thpoll all-time as well as being among the best 25 for a record 147thsuccessive week … Mside (10-0 overall, 8-0 Great Plains Athletic Conference) put a bow on its eighth straight league title Nov. 3, stopping Dordt 63-21 to highlight Senior Day 2018 festivities at Elwood Olsen Stadium. The victory also locked up a remarkable 11thstraight year of double-digit triumphs and ran the current skein of league wins to 33 and regular season victories to 28 … The Maroon continues to hold a tight grasp on impressive national statistical rankings. Senior quarterback Trent Solsma (SR/Dakota Dunes, SD) (Dakota Dunes, S.D.)leads the nation in total offensive yards (3,767); passing yards (3,794); completions (260); and touchdowns (51). His top target and classmate Connor Niles (SR/Sioux City, IA), a wide receiver from Sioux City, Iowa, is tied for the top in receptions (103) and is alone at the head of the class in touchdown catches (22) and receiving yards (1,836) while standing second in scoring (138 points) and all-purpose yards (2,080). Senior placekicker Jared Amundson (SR/Sioux City, IA) (Sioux City, Iowa)is one of 17 who is perfect on extra points and one of eight who's made each field goal this season … Along individual trends, Niles has been the record setter of late. Two weeks ago in a 49-0 victory over Concordia University of Nebraska, he set a new career touchdown reception standard for the NAIA (61 going into this weekend) and last week, he broke the school's single-single touchdown reception mark. Amundson, already the program's all-time leader in successful extra point tries, is adding to the total with a run of 128 successful attempts. Sophomore running back Arnijae "AP" Ponder (Omaha, Neb.)has reeled off six consecutive 100-yard-plus contests in route to going over 1,000 yards for the season. He's at 1,063 prior to the regular season finale.
